NO SCHOOL - TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9th Due to Weather
- Help For Haiti: The images of the devastation in Haiti have consumed the newspapers, nightly news programs, internet, and radio. Relief efforts have been organized all over the world to provide support for the victims of this tragedy. As a faith community, we at St. James the Less wanted to join the relief effort. The student body decided to organize a dress down day on Friday, January 22nd. The students were asked to make a minimum one dollar donation. We are so proud of our students, as they were able to collect over $900.00!!! All monies collected will be given to Catholic Relief Services to support their relief effort for the victims in Haiti. Please continue to keep in your prayers the victims, their families, the volunteers and everyone touched by this tragedy.
- Catholic Schools Week: Catholic Schools Week is a celebration of all the great things a Catholic education has to offer. This year the theme is "Dividends for Life". We have many special events planned. In honor of choosing a Catholic education for your child, we would also like to invite you to have lunch with your child this week. Monday is a Homework Free day for students, and we will have a skating party at Skate Zone 71 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday students can dress out of uniform, and wear their Run the Race t-shirts. We will serve their favorite lunch in the cafeteria, and the staff will play the 8th grade students in the annual Staff vs. Students Volleyball Game. Wednesday students are asked to "Dress for Success". This is also an out of uniform day. Students may not dress in jeans or t-shirts. Students will also use a "manner tracker" today to keep track of all of their kind deeds. Thursday students will participate in "Stump the Teacher" game and play other games throughout the day. Friday students in grades 5-8 will participate in the annual Spelling Bee. There will be an All School Mass at 10:30 a.m., and the Second Quarter Honor's Assembly will be held at 1:45 p.m. in the school gymnasium, all families are welcome to attend.
