St. James the Less Catholic School is a fully chartered and accredited school by the Ohio Catholic School Accreditation Association.  Founded in 1949, our school is one of the oldest in the diocese and serves students from St. James, St. Elizabeth, Holy Cross, St. Thomas, and Santa Cruz parishes.
St. James the Less Catholic School’s mission is committed to educating the whole student.  Spiritual, moral, social, academic, and emotional needs are nurtured in a Christ-Centered environment that respects the uniqueness of each student.  Our mission is carried out with an overreaching principle that every person is a child of God.
Two full time administrators oversee a staff of 25 full time faculty members, including specialists in technology, American Sign Language, Spanish, music, art, media, and physical education.  The classroom staff is enhanced with teacher’s aides in grades K-3, ESL support, literacy support and Intervention Specialist.  With the help of auxiliary state funds, the staff includes a full time math tutor, as well as reading tutor, speech therapist, and special education tutor.
A challenging academic experience encourages intellectual growth, creativity and critical thinking.  Students participate in a variety of learning, community service, and worship opportunities.  Our school environment encourages creativity, individual growth, while preparing them to be lifelong learners.
Our students have access to state-of-the-art technology.  Each classroom uses interactive SMART Boards, laptop and iPad accessibility, to utilize technology into everyday classroom instruction and learning.
St. James the Less Catholic School welcomes children of all races, genders, and faith backgrounds.  We respect that students learn at different paces, and in different ways.  We respect the diversity of all of God’s children.
